Glastonbury 2003
Radio 1 Dance - X Press 2
Updated 1st July 2003

X Press 2 Seb Fontaine hooked up with Rocky, Diesel and Ashley Beedle aka X Press 2 over the Glastonbury weekend to talk about their plans for the festival and the new material. Listen to the clip or check out the transcript below.

You played the Radio 1 stage last year. Have you got anything super cool planned for this year?
Ashley: The ususal bits and pieces y'know... we've got a little sampler set up. A lot of the time things just kind of happen as we go along, we never really plan anything or prepare anything, they just materialise. So hopefully there will be a bit of serendipity this evening.

Last year was your first Glastonbury. Are you more prepared this year in terms of things like soap and toilet roll!?
We were here for such a short time last year, in fact we were in a hotel and fortunately never got to experience the delights of the lavatorial 'experience' which we have done this year a few times.

What else have you seen since you've been here? Not a great deal. We were out and about yesterday and had a look around but nothing in particular.. just dealing with the sanitation. We saw Michael Eavis.

What about about the new album. I hear it's quite different?
It's more song based really with more intersting collaborations and more emphasis on melody.

Anything we should be looking out for in the set tonight?
Diesel's wellies!... and the baby wipes.

Before you go can you let us know when we are going to get the new stuff?
There's a couple of clubby bits that will be featured at when we're playing at some point and we'll see if they fit in but the album itself probably won't be out until next year... next spring.
