Glastonbury 2003
Radio 1 Dance - Sunday
Updated 29 June 2003

Sunday Best Balloons Last year we invited Rob Da Bank and his Sunday Best crew to host the final day on the Radio 1 Dance Area. It went so well that we asked them back again to complete the weekend's festivities... and it could have gone any better. The sun shone, the punters dressed up (as did the DJs) and everyone went bananas to everything from house to Janis Joplin.

Rob Da Bank started off by keeping things fairly chilled out and then the always wonderfully eclectic Ross Allen played a mixture of reggae, soul, hip hop and funky house. And then it all started to get a bit messy...

Sunday Best Balloons Norman Cook arrived with a posse of mates including Ed from the Chemical Brothers, Tayo and some of the Tribal Gathering Crew. The word had got round and by the time Fatboy had made it to the decks the crowd had tripled in size and were awaiting some sonic largeness.

He opened with his 'Are you going to Glastonbury?' intro and followed it with Queen's 'Another One Bites The Dust'. After much over head clapping Norman dropped a series of pumping acid stompers with tracks such as Janis Joplin's 'Mercedes Benz' thrown in for good measure.... whilst wearing a rubber deer mask.

Meanwhile the Cuban Brothers took to the stage to show off their baton twirling, MCing, singing and break dancing. If that wasn't enough, one of them picked up a security guard and gave her a fireman's lift from the barrier to the stage and then started dancing with her in front of everyone. If you don't believe us take a look at the photo gallery....
