Radio 1 Dance - Bobby and Nihal
Updated 1st July 2003
Having finished their show Bobby and Nihal dropped in the Radio 1 studio to chat to Rob Da Bank and Chris Coco about their Glastonbury experience so far. Listen to the clip or check out the transcript below.
You're a bit bling to be here aren't you. What do you think of Glastonbury
Nihal: I think it's a thoroughly anarchic experience. I'm fitting in though, y'know, staying in a hotel that kind of thing.
Why have you got your sunglasses on at this time in the morning?
Nihal: Well, I'm waiting for the sun to come up. I've got a Nostradamus thing going on.
What's your favourite moment of Glastonbury so far?
Bobby: Seeing John Peel.. watching him listen to Bhangra and nodding his head, almost dancing.
You both seem a little spaced out. Have you been up in the Green Fields sampling the local produce?
Bobby: No, someone just gave me a truffle and it tasted like chocolate, it was lovely.
Nihal: I had a mushroom omlette which was lovely. Lots of mushroom and not much egg.
You've been playing down here as well haven't you?
Nihal: Yep, we did our show earlier and it was mad. That experience of seeing John Peel really getting in to it when Bobby played some serious traditional Bhangra, literally the Panjabi Elvis!
What are you looking forward to in the next couple of days?
Nihal: The sushi waiting for me in my hotel room (laughs). I'd like to see Radiohead but unfortunately I've got to go back to London.
Bobby: Yep and I start DJing half way through their set so I'm only going to catch the first half an hour.
