Saturday evening and Seb Fontaine is about to kick off the first Radio 1 dance broadcast of the night. On his show he has the Festival Floorfillers plus Darren Emerson in the mix. We grabbed him before he went on stage and found out what he was doing around the campfire last night...
How's Glastonbury been for you so far?
It's been fantastic. It's starting to smell a bit now though, there are some really curious smells beginning to drift across the plains now, but it's been fantastic.
Are you a Glastonbury veteran?
No not at all. This is my first time actually. I don't know how I found my caravan last night because obviously they all look the same. Me not being a caravan expert I don't know how we found it but we did. I opened the door and there were some feet that I knew and I thought fantastic. It was a really good night though.
It's a bit unusual for a DJ to stay on site. Why did you choose to stay on site?
I don't think I had a choice actually, but it was nice, it was like being in my nan's caravan again.
You played on the Radio 1 stage last night. What did you do after you finished?
I went to check out Norman, Darren and Timo and we sat around a campfire and painted each other's faces with a black marker pen. It was enlightening let's put it like that. It was sunny when we found the caravan.
Who do you have on tonight's show?
I've got Darren Emerson on tonight's show, I'm dragging him on. It's going to be a fantastic night.
You're just back from the States. How was that?
Hard work. It's a flight every day and those flight are long, but I played really good gigs. I play over there once a month. I've got a residency in New York and I tend to surround them with a gigs.
Isn't there going to be an arrival this week?
That's right I'm going to be having a baby on Thursday so I've got all the D.I.Y. kits out and I'm putting up cots, I'm being dad at the moment.
