Fergie Interview

Fergie After pre-recording his show on Friday afternoon, Fergie hit the M3 and arrived in Glastonbury three hours later with a car full of friends. Fergie was due on stage at 11.30 so we caught up with him and chatted about his first Glastonbury...

Is this a totally new expereince for you?
Aye, Petrae was on the show today before we came down. We only had two tickets, one for me and one for Craig (Fergie's manager), and we managed to blagg in. We managed to get all the way to the back of the Pyramid Stage without passes.

Are you here working or just on a mission to have a good laugh?
I'm on a mission first, then working, then on a mission again. I'm going to stay around a while and listen to a few sets. FC Kahuna are on now.

What are you expecting from Glastonbury?
I've been told not to expect anything, but from what I've seen so far, it's just full of nutters. If anyone thinks I'm mad... no chance. There are some nutballs out there.

If you want real nutballs you need to go up to the healing fields.
Well I've heard that but I think I'll let Petrae find out that one for himself.

How has the show been going?
Really, really well. Or so I've been told. We had Petrae involved today. He did a 30 minute mix, brought him in and had a bit of a laugh. It's been really good.

Have you had a good reaction when you go out clubbing?
Aye, it's just nuts really. It's just brilliant being able to play music to such a big audience, and you can play different stuff as well. I think some people appreciate that I'm playing different stuff at the start of the show. I play some breakbeat stuff and some tribal, instead of just the four to the floor stuff?

Have you got a long summer of flights to Ibiza ahead of you?
I'm not doing as much as I used to. I'm doing 7 Gods Kitchens and I'm doing my show from the beach, and I'm doing Space with Timo and Seb.

And how's it going out there?
Really good. Gods Kitchen have gone from Amnesia to Eden, it's a big change for them but it's looking really good. They've spent loads of money on decor, it's looking fantastic.
