Radio 1's Resident Artist, Charles Kriel, spent last year at all the big events, taking photos, filming and doing live visual mixes alongside the UK's top DJs. This site brings together the best of Charles' work from over the last year, to help recreate the atmosphere of the live events season at Radio 1.

Charles brings a new visual dimension to Radio 1, shooting events from Creamfields to Ayia Napa, and mixing it up live on the visuals from the Love Parade to Ibiza. Charles came to Radio 1 as part of Year of the Artist, and this site showcases his work from across the year. Get a flavour of his photography and visual mixes from Radio 1's Live Events in these pages, and see more of Kriel's visual mixing live online during Pete Tong's Essential Selection, every Friday between 6 and 9pm.
