Jordan
Keep goin'!excellent as usual :)
Lolo
groovy beats pumpin` a party fo sho! though the mixing could be a little better. all around funky, fresh selection nonetheless!!!
Richie, Vancouver
I think my computer is broken, I clicked on an Essential Mix and heard some straight no-remix garbage hip-hop...
Steve, Los Angeles
excellent and refreshing
mark freejack preston up north
This is bad music. The kind of loud annoying vocals with no intelligence only accompanied by loud beeps and annoying sounds. Essential mix please dont do this to yourself.Get Satoshi Tomiie to do a set he is onfire and its only about time.
yush, new york
Very very good mix
Prcek,Brno Czech Republic
Herve is the biggest talent the uk have had in dance music since probably liam howlett, his output is on a different level, and for the idiots that think he's just another one of these 'fidgit' types...think again, his music has real substance, wonky fidget music is sooooo boring, but what sinden/herve is doing, really is the freshest thing ive heard in years..it borrows from all their own personal tastes and combines them to make something truly unique! amazing...herve is the man thats single handedly responsible for making dance music exciting and fun again. and dont you forget it.
dis boi bites
Trevor Loveys does it way better.
Scott, Bournemouth
oops my mistake, was looking at the wrong beeperwhat i meant is; Alphabeat - Fascination (Count & Sinden Remix) (EMI) - tune!
ellie. aber (again)
Dead Soul Brothers - Blessed (Dead Soul Records)what a tune
ellie, aberystwyth
I think some people are missing the point of the essential mix. It is the freshest DJs/Producers not a certain genre or style or whatever. Im not a dubstep guru but Skream's set last summer was sweet. And the essential mix of the year last year... DnB, if it's not your cup of tea you don't need to trash it. (not my cup of tea) but i really enjoyed it.
Chunkin Canada
Most 'start up' dance events feature djs of a much higher quality than this. How did they ever get to mix on Radio 1. Sorry about the moan !
Noah - Sussex
As said before, Herve / Switch etc are the ones to watch for the future, this sound is the next thing in my opinion. Good fun mix..just how it should be.
Whoop, Glasvegas
These two can do nothing wrong at the minute...This is the proper underground sticking it's head above the parapets and bringing the jack...Bring on Fabric next week
Jim, Steel City Wonkathon
sweeeeeeet as a mook...
damien walker newcastle
I'm very surprised at the large amounts of negative comments about this mix. Agreed that the mixing itself is a little bit messy but as anyone who has witnessed a Sinden & Count set in the flesh will testify to, they're all about bringing the fun and mixing it up rather than being technically amazing. There are very few Dj's as successful as them who are bringing Baltimore, Baile, Ghetto-tech and Juke to the masses whilst spear-heading the old skool garage revival with their nostalgic remixes. The best Dj's I saw all of last year in my opinion. Good work lads!
Max, Manchester
I LOVE Herve and Sinden but i absolutly HATE this mix....Go figure!
Pete - Northampton
herve and sinden killed it.awesome set :]
Benjamin, Worcester
sorry but this was dissapointing, where's the fidgety electro sound we love! not enough house :(
kalevra, manchester
Yeah, slightly slow start but wicked to see these guys getting recognition at long last, the rest was fully awesome. To; "Stuart Saunders, Telford". Come see our night "Jackin Off" at Quadrant Lounge, Wolverhampton. This stuff is what we play!!!
Andy (Jonse), Wolverhampton
How can anyone say that essential mix was rubbish?!it varied massively in style kept me hooked accumilating in the end in what these boys do best was wicked!!definately one of the best ive heard in a long time
anonymous
what would the chances of getting ricardo villalobos to do an essential mix be?
nathan in stone
These guys should start a label called Mad Decent... oh wait. Hahaha j/k I like it but I'm partial to house and techno. Everybody playing R&B and all this Jamaica stuff just confuses me. There is no shortage of good electronic music everyone! Come on!
Scott - IL
A really great mix....for people who don't like very orignal music!
BFAD Vancouver, BC
Hevre and Sinden AKA 'the sound of now' in the UK's clubs. Radio 1's music policy is always to deliver the latest cutting edge sounds right across the board and this is another fine example of showcasing 2 potential stars of 2008. If you didn't like it maybe you should be listening to something else, embrace new music rather than slagging it off. Some of the negative comments are so ridiculous, 'commercial fodder'? yeah Fabric book commercial DJ's... Out of date? i think that's called taking old sounds and putting a new twist on them, that is how dance music works.Rant over. Personally I loved it, as DJ's they inspired me with their track selection and i will continue to tune into to the EM and hear the world's finest talent playing the best selection of music available
Daniel Clarke, Manchester
Too commercial. I could hear a very similiar set from any bottom shelf DJ any given night here in DC. Where is the creativity? The sick rip ups? When are we going to get an Essential Mix from Kissy Sell Out or ESTAW?
Jason - Washington DC
The tracklist wasnt complete.Maximisation Trevor Loveys RemixThe song IDs as The Touch - Maximization more info @ myspace.com/thetouchse
Max,
I thought that Electro was bad until this massive pile of tripe came along!!!
Martin, Leighton Buzzard
Amazing, different, Bass fueled, beats all that trash trance and regular house were all so tired of hearing. A great start to the year and for me one of the best Essential Mix's i have heard since i started listening way back in 98. Bring on a full 2 hour Mix of your finest talent Annie Mac.
James Mallorca
diplo was robbed of the em of the year, then robbed by these 2 jokers.peace
ray ayr
Really like u releases. Radio1-u r da best ! :)
Vik, Russia
How u dance this?!
Gas, ARG
an intricate mix of styles... very good!!! one of the few that i have actually listened to repeatedly of late... and i really couldnt care less for the opinions of those slamming it.
CF-in-AU
Just like many other types of new dance music that come into the lime light, there are always people out there that wont like what they are hearing but I bet you in a few weeks or months time they will be Dismissing they ever said it once they realise no one else agrees with them and all their mates love it.As for the odd classic thrown in hear or there, just see it as an insight into where there influences come from. By the way some guy in Miami wasn’t Hip Hop built from Samples what ever Happened to that Sound? Wicked mix! Well Done!
bored at work! Bournemouth
One. the best essential!Sinden and Herve Rules!
Clash For Cash. Mexico City
some great tunes, was expecting a bit more though.maybe overseas songs like da superman are good.anyone thinking tracks with those choppy edits are edgy, just run a laptop through your mixer into a pc or mac and click the audio file on your laptop at weird little points wihile you record on the other comp.you will then see alot of the over hyped music is sampled junk.
some guy - Miami
Say no to fidget.Absolute tripe.
Robert, Australia
i'm completely sick of this. here's a sugguestion to ram into you're box. how about you let the breezeblock take over finding people for the show? it may not be to everyones taste, but that'd be business as usual wouldn't it?
frank, belfast
ABOUT TIME THE BOYS DID THE ESSNTIAL. WICKED! GET EM BACK!!!!
JAH, BARNET GOONER.
Finally some recognition for some the most promising producers/dj's of 2008. Their essential mix rocks! (just like their productions)A Baile funk, Baltimore club, dub step, rock 'n rave roller-coaster ride! Awesome! And @ justin wiggy10 years out of date??!? If there's something fresh, cool and experimental at the moment, it would be coming from these guys! But I'm glad to see your on top of the game by mentioning the 'fresh' sounds of monika kruse and ellen allien...Nice try, but next time a more grown up post with some recent artists/dj's perhaps?
Paul from Tilburg, The Netherlands
Excellent mix - makes a refreshing change from all the boring minimal about at the minute:D
Jim, Belfast
I felt the whole time like I had heard this before. Always look to the Essential Mix for a ground breaking performance.
Nate Minneapolis Minnesota USA
These guys are pretty awesome, most of their productions are awesome and AVH played quite a bit of them when i was at Stereosonic in Melbourne
nO oNE
ok.. I take some of my lat comment back.. Just heard a great track!..
Dennis-Miami
Poor form! Sounds like Mtv bubble gum tunes..
Dennis-Miami
Possibly the worst essential mix ever to be broadcasted on Radio 1...What the hell was that!
Mike, Uk.
Fisrt hour not for me but the second hour blew me away, massive big bass lines - AWESOME!

Herve, Sinden, Switch these guys are producing for future, their uniq sound is going to become very populer. I don't like Sinden's Djing but Herve's productions are absolutly killer.
