What a great mix ! keep up the good work essential mix , thanks for this great experience. Too bad I can`t download it :(
Quality set. Havent head these guys before but so the plumps at Glade last weekend and reckon this set was even better than the masters themselves (minus the knights of cydonia remix)
very good. im really glad they had a chance to show their skills. jem and justin are great djs and great producers as well. all the best from WarsawBert (Boogie Mafia)
cant stop rocking my chair at work....another quality mix from radio 1. keep'em coming!
Well done guys to both soul of man and radio 1...as an aspiring DJ you need to stay motivated and this certainly hits all the buttons!!! One word awesome!!! Whooooo Haaaaaaa x
very dated sound.that chris lake track was extremely hot though.thats alot closer to what we're listening to out here.cheers though radio one, cant wait for the upcoming lineup!
Soul of Man, an essential part of my party mix. Thanks Radio One. We need all the help we can get here on the west Coast. Hope some of them dj's can make it here for Love Fest in September. LPR
HI ITS A VERRY NICE MIX................PETE TONG THE BEST DJ.................................
I had forgotten how exhausting Breaks music is!
Great work! System Addict is ace!
firstly let me say im a big breaks fan... but i found this is hardly breaks though… well at least enough for it to be flagged as that, never the less, this mix surprised me and blew me away... similar to the last time i checked these guys out at field day a couple of years ago. As for that "us more discerning adults" comment thank you.. You have made me feel younger or at least more intelligent than whatever your discerning crowed listens to. This mix is of the highest quality and is one where that i feel like i have gained something from it as opposed to some of the other offerings this year... i'll be listening to this for some time to come.good work EMcant make everyone happy huh? but ur spot on here!
make me jump and dance til the end of mix in my office!! wow
Loved it, Peak time fabric styleee woot! More Please radio 1 :-p
Excellent EM, please bring the Plump DJs soon!
solid to the style and form. hard hitting bass, superb mixing; got better as the set went on. not a huge breaks fan, but kept imagining myself in a club groovin' hard.
What a Essential i must say, now i saw the Pete's vision with all this changes, The Essential mix at his top expression, this mixes is like a big story in music, some of them may be fary-tales...
Nice one S.O.M! Elsewhere must have been elsewhere.
Decent mix I thought. It kept me bouncing through my night shift. I have to say that the Plumps track ' System Addict' is different class. They never fail to raise the bar when it comes to peaktime breaks.
Alex James from Bromley in kent Are you implying that because breaks has some kind of ethnicity to it(Booyaka shah comment)and the chav comment that somehow we are lesser people than you intellectually. This is a very ignorant point of view and only serves to divide people and not bring them together.you were young once remember?!!!!
Too much!! Great Mix!! Minutes 30 to 45 was a non stop dance by myself!!
One more time, this mix rocks.
The mix rocked! keep rockin!
'bout time we had a breaks em... been a while
LUVLY FEKIN JUBLY AND SMASHADOODLEDOO. Bloody decent mix. Nice 1.
Absolutely fantastic plastic lads!! Soupeeeeerrr!!! Lots of old skool classic samples... top job...
Letal! That was top notch more please!
like mcdonalds im loving it - thanks for sharing pete
Just a superb mix with quality tunes and some surprise remixes of house traxx we love
tight mix...great breaks an cool rydims....turn it up tighten it down...bringing down the house...yeah it works for me....
Funky, driving breaks at its best. I just cant help but dance!!!!!!
CLASSSSS! some awesome breakbeat here!!
This is how it should be done - 90's anthemic over big party sets. These boys are making new style work.Well done - keep up the good work.
Never really got into breaks, however i'm loving this mix. Soul Of Man have produced a classic essential Mix. I'm loving the oldskool feel to it, some juicy vocals dotted here and there and the heavy grimey feel - superb ! Add all this to sublime mixing skills and the choice of music, especially Nick Thayer & Micahs 'Scrambler', we are talking hot, hot hot !The best EM in a long time- Respect- i love it.
AT LAST.NICE 1 SOUL OF MAN AND WELL DONE ESS.MIX...SOMETHING WITH A BIT OF SUBSTANCE INSTEAD OF THE BORING NOT REALLY GOING ANYWHERE PAP.SO MANY KNOWN AND UN-KNOWN DJS OUT THERE THE ESS.MIX SHOULD BE LIKE THIS EVERY WEEK.PS..I AM NOT JUST A BREAKS FAN IF YOU WERE WONDERING.
Soul of Man you should be proud!! Breaks essential mix superb!! As a breaks fan im biased but love the EM and reading comments on earlier shows , people should just listen to what they enjoy and give all the Slating a rest!!!
not a big fan of breaks i put it up there wiv that so called music they call minimal! but i cant lie this was amazing! but minimal defo is poop! destroy it!
Is it me or is this breakbeat stuff a load of childish noisy nonsense? 3 key stroke basslines, cheesy samples, silly booyaka booyaka ragga voices.Allright for hoodies and brain dead chavs but for us more discerning adults it's a little bit painful.Come on EM, I know you can do it, let's get back with the programme and get a quality DJ back on them wheels of steel.
I like it, party breaks make you wanna moooove!Bet they had a right laugh putting this together.
to think these guys were prolific just a few years back...wow breaks are dead(at least this style)nothing points that out like how much the tech/electro/house tunes that appeared throughout the mix outshined the rest of the selection.really looking foward to the upcoming shows!thanks radio 1
I Thought Soul Of Man's Essential Mix Was Smart I Like Breaks Music
Big ups to Soul Of Man... great surprise for a Saturday afternoon here in the West Coast!
