Are the next generation of games worth your time and money?
The PS3, Xbox360 and Nintendo's revolutionary new Wii, go console to console. American gamers queued for days to buy Sony's new PlayStation 3, but unless you want to re-mortgage to buy one on eBay, European gamers will have to wait until March 07. Even before the launch, units were fetching four or five times their retail price on the online auction website.
But who are the new generation of gamers buying them? We hear from the geeks, the guys and the girls about their growing obsession with war games, fantasy sports and virtual worlds.

I have a Wii and there is no doubt it is the future. The gameplay is awesome and completely intuitive, I recently returned to Halo 2 after playing Red Steel and the controls felt horrifically restricting and almost claustrophobic. As for graphics, this is a system which has more than twice the power of its predecessor the gamecube; a system which provided what is widly regarded as the most beautiful game of the last generation - Resident Evil 4 and so I have no fears that we'll see some stunning visuals. Finally for those who think Wii isn't for hardcore gamers try Zelda Twilight Princess - its genius.

I've got myself a Wii already and an extra controller to play with my mates, it offers by far the best playability. If you want to watch a HDDVD or Blue Ray film, buy a player, if you want good graphics, get a PC. If you want something you can have a larf with your mates or family with, get a Wii

I think that gaming has become more and more popular over the past few months with the new next generation consoles coming out quite quickly with the PS3 in the March 2007 horizon and the Wii and X-Box 360 gaining quick popularity with the people. So far I am a X-Box 360 and a partial Wii fan (I still have to play it though.

The Xbox 360 will outshine all other consoles this generation. Microsoft will have by far the best online of them all. Its microsoft the biggest corporation on the planet, I think its a little obvious myself. Playstation made gaming what it is today with thanks to the playstation 1 and the like of medal of honour. But not its time for them to step aside as microsoft get a bigger grasp on the market. Its there time now Its my time. The Online era of whoopass has begun.....

i cant believe that people always say, when referring to the nintendo wii, that its not very next gen compared to the other consoles, what is next gen? for more than 20 years we all know that consoles get better graphics everytime, so for once that someone did something revolutionary and innovative, i think the wii is more next gen than the other two.

I think that gaming is becoming more attractive to people of all generations. The constant innovation of consoles and games is also creating a better standard of gaming. Im an xbox live freak and playing online is going to be the next big thing. I think whichever console provides the best online gaming feature will be the most successful.
