Two years ago, a band called The Libertines were riding high. Then the story of the group became the story of the drug-addicted Pete Doherty, and the band spiralled into a tabloid frenzy of failed rehabs and court appearances, eventually splitting up.
While the circus surrounding Pete continues, his co-frontman Carl Barat disappeared from the limelight, lay low for a while, and formed a new band, Dirty Pretty Things.
With unrivalled access to the group, this documentary follows the first six months of Carl's new band; from their first secret European gigs, via writing in a Cornish cottage to LA recording studios, to the launch of their eagerly awaited new material.
Presented by Steve Lamacq, this programme features exclusive behind-the-scenes access and interviews with Carl Barat, Didz Hammond, Anthony Rossomando and Gary Powell.
It also features clips from early versions of as-yet-unreleased tracks from the band.
