Crisis? What Crisis?

Updated 25 Oct 2000 17:00pm

Important people Our Radio One Live in Cardiff seminars continued today. A highlight was Rule Britannia?, when Club Ifor Bach was shaken by the controversy over why UK bands have such mixed fortunes in the USA.

Bruce Craigie and Gill from the Session in ScotlandBruce Craigie, manager of Idlewild, fulfilled his promise to attend, even though his boys had just had to pull their gig due to illness...

He was joined by Independiente label manager Anthony McGee, Journalist Paul Sexton, Vic & Gill from the Session in Scotland and a very feisty and rebel rousing Steve Lamacq. See Steve smoulder...If there's one thing he loves more than a ciggie and a cider it's a good barney...

Steve is pictured here brewing up another riposte to those who are insufficiently committed to conquering America by way of NOISE...

AND THEN... JOHN PEEL IN DA HOUSE!

The debate was between 15:00 - 16:00 (and FREE to get in!) and was followed by the best free gig of the year - John Peel interviewed by Iestyn George...

Iestyn and a DJ He kicked off with a typically Peel digression on the subject of setting his dogs on (80s R1 jock) Bruno Brookes

Fine wines and good conversation...

The Radio 1 bootleg crew snuck in with a walkman as well as a camera...

...and you can hear what we taped... Peelie holds court...

In the meantime, we're off to the Gorky's and Crashland gigs clutching our camera... watch this space...
