It's not all party party party y'know. There's also the serious business of catching a few rays, and posing on the beach. This is where Ayia Napa comes into its own. Nissi Beach is excellent, though don't expect to see a grain of sand in the daytime - it's packed with bodies bathing in the sun. Here are a couple more spots you might enjoy.
Ayia Thekla
Out to the west of Napa Around 7km from town. Expect limited beach facilities.
Cape Greco
Not directly linked with the beaches as it's basically a rock formation, offering splendid views of Napa, and crystal clear waters. Yeah, right.
Grecian Bay
Napa's most accessible beach, it's located right in front of the square.
Konnos Bay
About 10km drive from town, popular amongst families and couples seeking a quiet or romantic spot. The sort of place you'd find your mum at.
Landa
Not a bad option when it comes to escaping the hustle and bustle, but staying hip with the in-crowd. Also known as The New Golden Bay.
Macronissos
This year, Macronissos has been turned into the venue for all the big beach parties on the island, kicking off with the Radio 1 beach parties with Trevor Nelson and The Dreem Teem. Macronissos is approximately 6km out of town, it promises to be a fantastic venue this year.
Nissi Beach
Wanna make an impact? It's the only place to be. Nissi's 4km from central Ayia Napa. It's a scene based on the skimpiest of bikinis, six-pack stomachs, Gucci shorts and Armani flip flops. Apart from enjoying the view (we know you will!), there are plenty of water sports, great bars and restaurants.
Sandy Bay
Snorkeling and swimming go down well on this small, yet picturesque horseshoe bay, based just a couple of kilometeres from the square.
