FAQs

Why have you made these changes?

It’s all part of our aim to bring you one simple, cohesive service – one service made up of ten distinct products and available to you on four screens (TV, desktop, tablet and mobile). iPlayer Radio is one of these ten products, so we’re making these changes to give you a simpler, more consistent BBC radio experience.

What is iPlayer Radio?

iPlayer Radio is a one-stop-shop for listening to live and on demand radio from the BBC. This is just the first step in improvements that will bring all BBC Radio together in one place on mobiles, tablets, desktop computers, digital radio and digital TV.

Why aren’t the Radio 1 and 1Xtra pages designed like this?

We updated the Radio 1 and 1Xtra homepages in 2011 with features tailored to those stations’ audiences. We are testing how these features work for other stations before integrating these homepages fully into iPlayer Radio.
