How can I switch off the onscreen display when I listen to BBC radio via my TV so that it doesn’t damage my plasma screen?
Freeview
Freeview viewers can press red, then select 0 on the remote control to turn the screen to black. Pressing 0 again will bring back the text information pages.
Virgin
At the moment, the screen is black for radio stations on Virgin. The BBCi red button service will shortly be available for radio stations on Virgin Media.
Sky
Sky viewers will not have an issue with screen burn as the programme information disappears shortly after arriving at a radio channel. The 'BACK UP' button can be used to quickly turn off any programme information.
