Why doesn’t my new DAB portable radio work? The postcode checker says I should get reception.
If the postcode coverage checker says you are “very likely” to get reception then most portables radios should be fine. If it says you “may receive” and you aren't finding stations then move your radio to another part of the house or by an upstairs window.
Some DAB portable sets may need careful positioning and in some cases, an external aerial may be needed to give consistent results. Good installers can be contacted through the Confederation of Aerial Industries.
The postcode checker is not guaranteed to cover all locations, building types, and receivers. Therefore it can only be a guide. If the guide suggests you should have good reception but the radio does not work well, and you have tried moving the radio and extended the aerial you may have a faulty radio.
