Why can't I download past episodes of the In Our Time podcast?

The majority of BBC podcast series, episodes are only available to download for seven days before being removed. Where we have been able to negotiate the necesary rights for an individual podcast series, episodes may be available to download for a longer period.

Although we are aware of the demand for past editions of Radio 4's In Our Time with Melvyn Bragg to be made available to download, we regret we are not able to offer this at the current time. However, we are working on making episodes available to download for longer than seven days in future.

In the meantime, on the Radio 4 website you'll find an expansive archive of In Our Time programmes which you can listen to again online (RealPlayer is required). These past editions are offered as streams only, and cannot be downloaded or transferred to a portable media player.
