Why does the signal drop out when I listen live to BBC radio stations on my Sonos WiFi radio?

For the past few months, the BBC has been closely monitoring an issue with live streams of BBC radio stations dropping out repeatedly on Sonos Radio devices.  We have been working with Sonos to establish why the fault was occuring and to help resolve the matter as quickly as possible.

We are pleased to confirm that Sonos have now identified the problem and have released a firmware upgrade which will fix this issue.

Sonos advises all customers to upgrade their firmware to version 2.5 by visiting the official Sonos site.
