Pudsey's 'Once in a Lifetime' auction

Fiona Bruce

Pudsey's 'Once in a Lifetime' eBay auction offered people the chance to win unique experiences behind the scenes at some of the BBC's best loved shows, to meet and greet presenters and to get their hands on exclusive signed memorabilia. The auction which ran from Thursday 10 November to Sunday 20 November 2011 has raised almost £70,000 and the money is still coming in, so we're expecting that total to go up and up!

Here are some of the auction items which captured the imagination of the public:

  • The Designer Pudsey Bear collection saw the likes of Louis Vuitton, Pringle, Giles Deacon and Erdem handcraft their interpretation of BBC Children in Need's iconic mascot. The Louis Vuitton Designer Pudsey bear, which came with his own custom Alzer suitcase sold for a staggering £35,600!

  • Eddi Jordan
  • Formula 1 generously donated Eddie Jordan's iconic top, signed by all of the Formula 1 drivers, not to mention the likes of Ronaldo, Rory McIlroy and Sir Paul McCartney! Some of the other items donated by Formula 1 were a helmet signed by Lewis Hamilton and a cap signed by Jenson Button. Eddie Jordan also signed one of his shirts personally for the one of the lucky winners.

  • People jumped at the chance to be outdoors with unique experiences at the Chelsea Flower Show, Gardeners World, Springwatch and a Night Under the Stars, raising thousands of pounds.

  • Two lucky winners will be meeting Michael McIntyre backstage on his UK tour before settling down to watch his show.

  • The winning bidder secured themselves an unforgettable day with the Dragons of Dragon's Den and will watch budding entrepeneurs pitch their ideas. Deborah Meaden and Hilary Devey both also auctioned their iconic jackets.

  • The MotoGP poster which was signed in tribute to the rider, Marco Simoncelli sold for £8600.

  • Bidders competed to win Chelsea and Arsenal shirts signed by the whole team. They both raised over £1000.

It's been an incredible eBay auction this year with some of the most amazing prizes we've ever had and some of the biggest bids! Thanks to everyone that bid on an item. Keep your eye on eBay next year for more unique items and experiences!
