Pudsey has been overwhelmed by the efforts of fundraisers around the country, and all those who donated or bought some of the fantastic products on sale this year.
350 ASDA stores across the country have gone Pudsey crazy and sold a huge range of Pudsey Bear products from Washing Up Liquid to Pudsey T-shirts, Pudsey Watches to Cookies and Sugar, Pudsey Bear Pens to a box of tissues - all in aid of BBC Children in Need - with a percentage of each product coming straight to BBC Children in Need.
As well as this fantastic range of products available the dedicated ASDA employees and customers have raised further amounts by holding a variety of fundraising events from a Tug of War with local sporting mascots at the store in Pudsey, an organised drive in movie theatre in the car park at West Bridgeford, a 48 hour bowl-a-thon on the Wii at the Derby store to Caroline Robertson from Coatsbridge diving with sharks!
All this incredible activity has resulted in the biggest cheque the charity has ever received from a Corporate Fundraiser for £2.1million! Everyone involved has shown how a little imagination and determination can go a long way and thanks to their efforts this year BBC Children in Need will be able to continue to help disadvantaged children and young people across the UK – Pudsey could not be happier and can’t wait to see what they get up to next year!
