Hull FC Raise Money in Derby Clash

Hull FC plans to raise over £15,000 for Pudsey when they go head to head with Hull KR at the KC Stadium on Friday, April 10th. £1 from every ticket sold to the match will go directly to BBC Children in Need and benefit disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.

Hull FC Rugby League Club announced BBC Children in Need as their official charity for 2009 earlier this year. The new partnership was launched at their pre-season match when the club wore their Pudsey endorsed kit and tackled the Leeds Rhinos on their own turf with a 4 point lead.

Hoping for the same outcome, Hull are asking fans to support Pudsey by coming to the game and rooting them on as they clash with Hull KR. Tickets can be bought in person or over the phone on 0870 837 0004.

The aim of the Hull FC Charity of the Year 2009 programme is to raise much needed funds to help disadvantaged children and young people and BBC Children in Need can help fulfil this aim due to the promise that for every penny donated to the charity, a penny will go directly towards projects helping disadvantaged children and young people in the UK.

Last year, the East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire public helped Pudsey raise £390,931! This money is significantly enhancing the lives of disadvantaged children and young people across the region. Despite this amazing total there are still thousands more children living with a disability, neglect, abuse or in abject poverty who need help. Every donation made to BBC Children in Need, no matter how small, really does make a huge difference.

Elaine James, BBC Children in Need Regional Officer said; “BBC Children in Need is excited to have been chosen as Hull FC’s Charity of the Year 2009 and with the backing of the Hull FC supporters we hope to make a hugely positive difference to the lives of the most disadvantaged children and young people in Hull and the East Riding.”

James Rule, CEO of Hull FC said: “Hull FC are proud to be working with such a well respected charity as BBC Children in Need. We look forward to supporting its good work in the forthcoming year with the exciting initiatives planned.”
