Love for the Bear from Around the World
Pudsey feels the love this autumn on BBC One when celebrities go Around the World in 80 Days!
Six pairs of celebrities re-enact the epic odysseys of Phileas Fogg and Michael Palin for a 21st-century audience. Once again, the limit is 80 days, but this time a team of celebrities must pass on the baton in the ultimate relay race, undertaken non-stop, in real time.
Respecting the heritage of Fogg and Palin, the Around The World In 80 Days travellers shouldn't use aeroplanes, although any other means of transport, from camels to Bullet trains, is acceptable. Each celebrity will be raising money for BBC Children in Need as part of the challenge, including bringing home curiosities to auction in aid of the charity.
On BBC Children in Need Appeal Night, 20 November 2009, the celebrities will head for the BBC studios to find out just how much they have raised for the cause in this fast, frantic and often frustrating global race against the clock.
