Find out how to get involved

Learning Zone

Welcome to our dedicated section for teachers. This section is filled with lesson plans and tips to help you teach children about disadvantage in the UK, to help explain where the money goes that schools raise and to help teach important elements of the curriculum such as PSHE and SEAL.

Please click on the relevant key stage buttons below to access the lesson plans and interactive links. The plans are intended as a complement to your fundraising to help complete the picture for children about why they are fundraising for BBC Children in Need and how they can get involved in supporting disadvantaged children and young people in the UK.

We also have some easy to use assembly plans to start off the mornings and afternoons with. Before you get started with the educational resources below, you can get some tips on how to use the Appeal films featured in the resources and also how to explain what we mean by disadvantage and deprivation.

To help with your fundraising, visit our Ideas Section where we have posters, downloadable stickers to print onto labels, recipes, arts & crafts and much more. Don't forget you can tell us what you are up to in your school this year and you never know, your activity and photo might be featured on BBC local pages!

Most computers will open PDF documents automatically, but you may need to download Adobe Acrobat Reader. Download the reader here.
