ASDA have been supporters of BBC Children in Need for eight years and in 2008 their Pudsey committed colleagues and customers across more than 300 stores raised an absolutely staggering £2.5 million - the biggest cheque from a Corporate Partner the charity has ever received. Our Royal Mail Group friends have supported Pudsey's cause for 2 years and they had a fantastic second year reaching a staggering £600,000 to help disadvantaged children & young people across the UK! In 2009 colleagues plan to have a whole lot of fundraising fun once again with sponsored events, collections and a few special appearances by Pudsey Bear himself, so keep your eyes peeled in November when you pop into your local Post Office.
For many years Costco colleagues and customers have been supporting Pudsey by holding fantastic fundraising events in their stores across the UK and in 2008 they raised an amazing £500,516! For 2009 they have already held a golfing event and summer ball in aid of BBC Children in Need and their fundraising activity won't stop there! Furthermore, from the end of October Costco will be selling some super cool Pudsey Bear Suction Badges and Pudsey Bear Hand Puppets with a generous donation coming to BBC Children in Need! After six years of fantastic support Boots UK and Pudsey Bear are firm friends. Last year they handed over a cheque for a whopping £530,000 and colleagues and customers get stuck into exciting fundraising events every year, from sponsored leg waxing to an Elvis sing-o-gram. As well as their imaginative fundraising ideas, year on year Boots UK sell brilliant Pudsey products in the lead up to our Appeal night and from 21st October 2009 you will be able to treat yourself to a range of goodies including the all essential Pudsey Bear Bandana and a cosy Pudsey hot water bottle and case to get you through the cold winter nights! 2009 sees Greggs entering their fourth successful year fundraising for BBC Children in Need after presenting a cheque in 2008 for a superb £359,631! Their inspired colleagues up and down the country held numerous fundraising activities from sponsored events and raffles to Shoe Shining services and Jaffa Cake eating challenges and they intend to get even more creative this year! What's more, from late October Greggs will be selling a variety of Pudsey Bear Products across their stores in aid of BBC Children in Need, from Pudsey Keyrings to Pin Badges, plus don't miss their scrumptious range of Pudsey Bear sweet treats for all the family. Last year saw Welcome Break's second year supporting BBC Children in Need and colleagues at service stations from Abington in Scotland to Eurotunnel in Folkestone raided their dressing up boxes, took part in countless sponsored events, displayed their flair at a talent show and collected their socks off to present a cheque for a tremendous £174,235! This year Welcome Break will carry on having some serious fun, raising even more money for disadvantaged children and young people across the UK and on your next pit stop do your bit by donating loose change with their 'Spend a Penny, Spare a Penny' collection boxes and treat yourself to their delicious Pudsey Gingerbread. Pudsey has recently spent some time getting sticky with Baxters to help create none other than a special edition Pudsey Strawberry Jam for 2009. So get hold of a jar, get your aprons on and get creative - Bake a Cake , hold a tea party or just mix some with custard as you watch the Appeal on Friday 20 November!
