About this event

Catch up with more Horrible Histories at the Horrible Histories website

Louise Fryer (presenter), Horrible Histories cast, Choirs from The Music Centre, Kids Company Choir, Aurora Orchestra and Nicholas Collon (conductor).

Anyone who has split their sides laughing at CBBC's hit television series Horrible Histories now has the chance to see and hear the cast perform some of the most popular songs from the show, ranging from the Savage Stone Age and the Vicious Vikings to the Gorgeous Georgians and the Vile Victorians.

Backed by children's choirs and the Aurora Orchestra, the songs will be interspersed with some great music by composers such as King Henry VIII, Lully, Mozart and the prolific 'Anon'.

Horrible Histories, based on the best-selling books by Terry Deary with illustrations by Martin Brown, has proved a massive success. Children love the series, and the songs (music by Richie Webb) have proved among the most memorable elements of the show. Come to see the stars and sing along!

Following the success of the first-ever signed Prom last year, Dr Paul Whittaker, Artistic Director of Music and the Deaf, returns to guide you through this free Prom.

There will be one interval.

Really looking forward to this Prom on Saturday morning. The children are working are working incredibly hard. They have been rehearsing all day today and have more rehearsals tomorrow and on Friday. Horrible Histories have never been in HD sound before that is for certain.

Its a great shame that the BBC is commited to broadcast every other Prom (dates already announced) EXCEPT Prom 20 (Horrible Histories). One very disappointed 11 year old in my house hold! Come on BBC set a date.

Oh yes, please do broadcast it. We were lucky enough to get tickets but would love the chance to go over the best bits again later!

This morning, I see there is a "Television & Red Button" link on this page. Does that mean that Auntie has reconsidered and decided to record what could be one of its most popular proms--especially for family viewing--for television, despite what is printed in my Proms 2011 Programme Guide? I was at RAH last night. There are cameras and recording equipment in situ, but maybe that's just for the evening prom. Oh please Auntie do record the Horrible Histories prom for a much larger TV audience!

One of the actors Laurence Rickard has said on twitter that it's scheduled for tv in late summer so hopefully not too long to wait.
