This season sees screenings of eight films and documentaries, among them the classic MGM musical Singin' in the Rain and a profile of Daniel Barenboim's boundary-crossing West-Eastern Divan Orchestra, which brings together young Arab and Israeli musicians

Films are screened at the Royal Geographical Society, just adjacent to the Royal Albert Hall. Admission is free and unticketed: doors open half an hour before start-time.

Stan Tracey: The Godfather of British Jazz (70', awaiting classification) - before Prom 3. A portrait of the jazz legend, introduced by Geoffrey Smith.

Singin' in the Rain (103', cert. U) - before Prom 22. The classic 1952 musical, starring Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds. Introduced by Matthew Sweet.

Diaghilev: The Years Abroad; The Years in Exile (109', awaiting classification) - before Prom 31. Introduced by Bob Lockyer .

Stravinsky: Once, at a Border... (166', exempt from classification) - before Prom 40. Tony Palmer's profile of the composer, featuring contributions from family, colleagues and Friends. Introduced by the director.

Knowledge is the Beginning (114', exempt from classification) - before Prom 50. Paul Smaczny's profile of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra. Introduced by Mariam Said.

Saturday 5th September 2.00pm
God Rot Tunbridge Wells (120', exempt from classification) - before Prom 67. Tony Palmer's film on Handel's life, starring Trevor Howard. Introduced by the director.

All Proms Plus events are free of charge.
