Arabella Steinbacher

The Bamberg Symphony Orchestra made its Proms debut in 2006 and now reappears under its British-born Principal Conductor Jonathan Nott, who returns later this season to conduct the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester (Prom 65).

In a wide-ranging Austro-German programme, Bruckner's 'Wagner' Symphony – dedicated to the man he revered as 'the Master' – is prefaced by a Beethoven-inspired orchestral showpiece by rising young German composer Jörg Widmann and by the third of Mozart's five violin concertos, in which the multi-award-winning young German violinist Arabella Steinbacher makes her eagerly awaited Proms debut
