Our Proms Indian Voices day begins with a concert of
north Indian classical khyal singing, featuring Pandit Ram
Narayan, the greatest living sarangi (short-necked fiddle)
player; Manjiri Asnare Kelkar, the rising star of the
Jaipur–Gwalior khyal school; the two Mishra brothers,
the foremost exponents of the virtuoso Varanasi vocal
style; and Asima, an iconoclastic, boundary-breaking
young ensemble from
Kerala.

- 1) Raag Bhatiyou - a teental (a medium fast rhythmic composition in 16 beats)

- 2) A song composed by one of India's late great Maestros - Master Krishnarao

- 2) Fast composition in Ektal about Lord Krishna's flute playing

Following the afternoon of free music-making and
dance at Indian Voices in the Park, Kensington
Gardens, our Proms Indian Voices celebration
culminates in an all-singing, all-dancing Bollywood
extravaganza fronted by the
popular Indian TV talent show
host and award-winning singer
Shaan and his band, plus the
Bollywood moves of Honey's
Dance Academy.
