BBC Proms Out+About
Thursday 25 June, 9am - 9pm
Proms Out+About took to the streets of London on 25 June 2009 9am-9pm, with great success. Members of the BBC Symphony Orchestra played to passers-by in stations, libraries, schools and hospitals across the city, bringing free live classical music to new audiences and making music with communities across London with workshops and interactive events for children.
1. Morning commuters at St Pancras International station are treated to a brass quintet recital
2. A string quartet entertain crowds at the afternoon market in Hammersmith Lyric Square
3. Among the dinosaurs at the Natural History Museum
4. Members of the BBC Symphony Orchestra gave masterclasses to schoolchildren throughout the day
5. Evening finale in Westfield London shopping centre with full BBC SO
