BBC Singers

A series of free concerts by the BBC Singers to launch the 2009 season of the BBC Proms.

This is a chance to get a taste of the repertoire being performed at the Royal Albert Hall this summer and find out more about the season.

Proms controller Roger Wright will attend every event and be on hand to answer questions about the Proms and the involvement of the BBC Performing Groups.

The first of these concerts will be recorded for broadcast on BBC Radio 3.

Monday 27 April, 7.00pm
St George's Bristol, Great George Street (off Park Street), Bristol

Tuesday 28 April, 7.00pm
The Corn Exchange, Church Street, Brighton

Thursday 30 April, 7.00pm
The Forum, St James's Parade, Bath

This is a series of special concerts to mark the launch of the BBC Proms. Join Roger Wright, Director of the BBC Proms and Controller BBC Radio 3, to learn more about this year's Proms, and hear the BBC Singers (directed by Chief Conductor David Hill) perform music highlighting some of the composers, works and themes to be featured this season. The concert will also provide an opportunity to buy the bestselling BBC Proms Guide.
