Royal Albert Hall Located on the south side of Kensington Gardens in London and with a capacity of almost 6000, the world-famous Royal Albert Hall is where all the main orchestral Prom concerts take place.

How to get there


By Underground

South Kensington (District and Piccadilly lines) High Street Kensington (Circle and District lines)

By Bus

No 9 (to Charing Cross or Hammersmith)
No 10 (to Euston, King’s Cross or Hammersmith)
No 52 (to Victoria, Notting Hill Gate or Willesden)

Note the Royal Albert Hall now lies inside the Congestion Charging zone (Western Extension) which operates 7.00am-6.00pm Mon-Fri (excluding public holidays).

Doors open 45 minutes before each concert (earlier for restaurant access - see below)

Latecomers will not be admitted into the auditorium until there is a suitable break in the music. There is a video monitor with digital audio relay in the foyer at Door 6.

Bags and Coats may be left in the cloakrooms at Door 3 (ground level), Door 8 (circle level) and within the Arena corridor. Folding chairs and hand-luggage larger than a briefcase are not allowed in the auditorium.

Eating, drinking and smoking are not permitted inside the auditorium, and the use of cameras, video cameras and recording equipment is strictly forbidden. Mobile phones and watch alarms should be turned off.

In consideration of our audience and artists, children under the age of 5 are not allowed in the auditorium.
