Out+About

The Out+About scheme is now in its fifth year.

Following last year's success in Reading, this summer we visited Brighton.

The premise for Out+ about is simple: bring together the BBC Symphony Orchestra and members of the local musical community, stir well over a period of several weeks and hey presto, great music! These intensive activities culminated in two events - a matinee for children and an evening concert for families including big screens, dramatic lighting, lots of audience participation and new music, all presented by Dave Benson Phillips.

Brighton Family Orchestra

Alongside the BBC Symphony Orchestra a brand new orchestra performed that night. Brighton families joined the BBC team to be part of Brighton's very own Proms Family Orchestra, designed for families (of any shape or size) who enjoy music and fancied having a go at playing in an orchestra!
