Family Orchestras

We launched this initiative in 2006 and it was such a success that this year we expanded it.
The idea was simple: family members, be they mums, dads, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles or grandparents, sitting side-by-side making music.

Whatever instrument they played, at whatever level, everyone could join in the fun.

During this year's season hundreds of family members took part in four family orchestras. Each session took inspiration from this seasons proms, from Bollywood to Shakespeare, Shostakovich to the amazing musicians of the Simon Bolivar Venezuelan Youth Orchestra.

Well done to everyone who took part. We do hope to see you all again in future family orchestras.
