2 gold & 2 silver
Sebastian Coe was trained by his father, Peter Coe, on the hills and lanes around his hometown of Sheffield. He repeatedly ran 800m sprints with one minute rest; this conditioned him to finish races with a burst of acceleration.
He won 1500m gold in Moscow in 1980 and is the only athlete to have retained the title, winning again four years later in Los Angeles.
