Holly Willoughby and Reggie Yates
Take one host-with-the-most, add another, thrust microphones in their hands and voila! You have our presenters for The Voice UK. Holly Willoughby and Reggie Yates are at the helm for BBC One's vocal talent-fest, taking charge of proceedings on-screen and online.
Having started out as a model, Holly’s foray into television came as something of a diversion. But veering off-course has turned into success and all roads have led to co-hosting The Voice UK alongside Reggie Yates.
I’m so excited to be hosting The Voice UK - it’s going to be one roller coaster of a ride!Holly
Scouted at the age of 14, Holly’s modelling had led to her appearing in various TV commercials where she proved to be a natural in front of the camera. It was then she decided that TV presenting was the job for her.
Incidentally, accompanying a friend for a casting led Holly to land her first job in telly when a production company were looking for a team of fresh and young presenters to host their new Saturday morning show, S Club TV.
She has since established herself as a dynamic presenter on a number of high profile shows, setting a precedent as a budding talent on CD:UK, Saturday Showdown. Her hard work in children’s television was recognised when she won the Children’s BAFTA award for Best Presenter in 2006.
Holly moved on from kids’ TV to present a number of high-profile prime-time shows. She served as the main host of Xtra Factor, co-presented Dancing on Ice, and continues to co-present This Morning and appear on the panel of the altogether more-adult themed show Celebrity Juice. Oo-er.
Aged 28 and armed with a vibrant mix of personality and charm, Reggie has become something of a television staple. Having earned his musical stripes presenting on television and radio, he’ll be taking his love for music a step further to present The Voice UK alongside Holly Willoughby.
I’m so delighted to get this job and be part of such a credible music show.Reggie
Reggie started his career 20 years ago when he appeared in Desmonds aged eight. In 1998, his presenting skills led to him hosting Diggit alongside best buddy Fearne Cotton and from here, Reggie’s charismatic on-screen presence was born.
Reggie has since turned in an impressive array of presenting gigs. He joined BBC radio station 1Xtra aged just 18, became a CBBC stalwart and burst onto primetime TV to host the BBC’s longest running music franchise, Top of the Pops.
Soon enough, Reggie was inducted onto the Radio 1 roster, where he flexed his musical muscles a little more, and he now hosts the all-important Chart Show every Sunday. But Reggie’s talents extend further than the studio; he’s toured the country hosting coverage of all the major music festivals, he hosted the MOBO Awards in 2010 and even shot his first feature film last year. Just as we thought Reggie couldn’t squeeze any more in, he became the voice of CBeebies’ animated protagonist Rastamouse. Phew!
