He won his first World Championship in 1962, with BRM, and was part of a golden generation of British drivers that dominated the World Championship in the 1960s. He won the glamorous Monaco Grand Prix five times. A charming and witty raconteur, Graham Hill was hugely popular with race fans and at ease with the media. He won his second World Championship in 1968 but the following year was seriously injured at the US Grand Prix. He fought back to return to motor racing, but in 1975 he was killed when his plane crashed returning from test driving in France.
