She’s got the scores on the floors

I've never had a spray tan so that would be interesting because I'm trying to get away from the whole Essex Girl stereotypeRachel Riley
Plucked from relative obscurity Rachel had absolutely no television experience when she took over from former Strictly star Carol Vorderman on Countdown in 2009. It wasn’t her ambition to be a presenter but she decided to apply for the job because she was interested in the numbers part of the game. Remarking at the time “there's only one cool maths job around and I was lucky enough to get it so I'm absolutely thrilled”.
Born in Rochford in Essex, it’s no surprise to hear Rachel excelled at school achieving four A’s in her A levels, before studying maths at Oxford University.
The most dancing experience Rachel has had was learning a simple routine for her wedding day, which she performed in front of her guests. However Rachel did host a Strictly Come Dancing-themed 21st birthday party, wearing a backless Latin-style dress, which whet her appetite for the requisite Strictly sequins of this series. On glamming up for the show Rachel said “I’m like a magpie – I want it all! I’m looking forward to that part.”
Rachel’s most looking forward to dances like the American Smooth and The Charleston. She’s keen to be taught poise and elegance as she’s known to be clumsy and is worried about falling down the stairs on set. “I keep getting my heels stuck in the floor. When I was playing hockey once, I just fell over when standing still.” Don’t tell Craig that Rachel!
