Alan Cumming on dealing with childhood abuse

Actor Alan Cumming has told BBC HARDtalk about the physical abuse he suffered at the hands of his father when he was a child.

"My mum, brother and I all feel so lucky to have survived him," he said, adding that he wanted to write a memoir to tell the ultimately “uplifting" tale of how they came out of it.
