Carbon emissions scheme would encourage airlines to ‘do more of the right thing’

The CEO of Easyjet Carolyn McCall has told BBC HARDtalk that Air Passenger Duty in the UK is a "tax on passengers" which suppresses demand.

She said Easyjet has never objected to an offset carbon emissions scheme for airlines, where heavy emitters of CO2 buy and sell carbon allowances, adding that it would be an incentive to airlines to "do more of the right thing."
