More than a third of British adults now live on their own – the largest percentage in history. This is a major change in the social landscape. Most people living on their own are aged between 34 and 64. This may be a result of choice or economic or social circumstances. Some are sad, but others revel in the freedom it brings. BBC Radio 2’s Faith in the World Week examines the ups and downs of this phenomenon throughout the week on shows including Claire Balding on Good Morning Sunday, the Chris Evans, Simon Mayo, Pause for Thought, Jeremy Vine and a special documentary with Hardeep Singh Kohli.
