Nobel Prize-winning poet Seamus Heaney on his poetry collection, District and Circle

In March 2006, Susan Hitch talked to the Nobel Prize-winning poet Seamus Heaney. Forty years after the publication of his first book, Death of a Naturalist, Heaney's collection District and Circle includes poems on a childhood spent safe from the horror of World War II, alongside poems coloured by present day anxieties, including the July 7th bombings in London in 2005.

Originally broadcast on Night Waves, BBC Radio 3, on 28th March 2006.
