The Mau Mau Rebellion
The British government is to pay compensation to survivors of abuse during colonial rule in Kenya. Dozens of white settlers were killed during the fight against the Mau Mau, thousands of Africans died on both sides of the conflict. Historian Caroline Elkins helped uncover evidence of abuse.
