Flagship carbon scheme in jeopardy?

The European Parliament has voted against proposals to prop up the world's leading carbon trading scheme, designed to reduce CO2 emissions. The price to emit has plummeted to a record low, raising questions about the scheme's future. Italian authorities are told to seize more than $2bn from banking giant Nomura, linked to a fraud probe involving Italy's oldest bank. As gold falls in price by the most in thirty years, we ask whether the party's over for commodities. And music streaming service Spotify has launched in Asia and Latin America - we ask if streaming rather than downloads could be the future.
