China: The world's top hacker?

18 minutes
First broadcast:
Monday 11 March 2013

Following the most detailed report yet alleging China's involvement in cyber-espionage, we ask what companies can and should be doing to combat the theft of their intellectual property. Mark Anderson, leading internet consultant with the Strategic News Service, reflects on the likely responses, public and private, to the multi-billion dollar threat of hacking. Should companies be firing malware back?

Plus shark-fin off the menu - the prospect of a new global ban on the fishing of Hammerhead and Oceanic White-tip Sharks by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species could hit Hong Kong restaurateurs in the pocket. The BBC's Jennifer Pak speaks to local diners and chefs about the cultural significance of the industry.

Also, the office with no chairs - or at least fewer of them. Will we stand for it? Our regular letter-writer, Lucy Kellaway, of the Financial Times, thinks it's rather a good idea.
