It looks like the US Congress will allow the Obama administration to borrow the money it needs to keep the government running - but only for a few more months. And there are deep spending cuts due in March. What are the implications for the US economy? George Magnus, independent adviser to UBS gives his assessment. A former Federal Reserve Governor, Randall Kroszner, looks at what it would take to get government debt on to path that is sustainable in the long term. And our regular contributor Jeremy Wagstaff ponders the future of the office - will they exist at all? He doubts it.
