European Clubs' Dirty Tricks

Duration:
25 minutes
First broadcast:
Friday 18 January 2013

The former agent of Roberto Carlos tells us that European clubs are exploiting those in the developing world by not paying them what they’re owed for nurturing the talent that comes to Europe. He claims that FIFA doesn’t take any action to enforce its own regulation.

The Zenit St Petersburg defender Bruno Alves says that the club’s association with racism, following a letter from a group of fans urging them never to sign black or gay players, isn’t an important issue for him.

We remember South Africa’s momentus Africa Cup of Nations victory in 1996 with their coach at the time Clive Barker.

And the Kuwait coach Goran Tufegdzic talks about life after being shot in the chest by a neighbour.
