BBC Research & Development is a group of scientists and engineers set up when the BBC first formed to help produce early broadcast systems. Since then it has become responsible for helping the BBC to remain relevant as the technology by which it delivers its content constantly changes. Today the department is actively involved in developing new delivery platforms, working practices and editorial formats. Tnis short video describes the philosophical similarities between the BBC and Mozilla in their attitudes to openness on the web.
