It's hoped that new technology can help keep older people independent for longer and reduce care costs. Lucy Williamson reports from South Korea on attempts to address the plight of older people who are single and lonely.

We look at how electronic sensors in the home can check that senior citizens stay healthy and safe. Lesley Curwen talks to Kian Saneii, chief executive of US company Independa, which provides this kind of support service.

And Kim Walker, Chief Executive of Silver Group Asia suggests how the marketing industry should adjust its message for the over-50s.
