Biscuits cause travel chaos in Stoke-on-Trent

3 hours
First broadcast:
Wednesday 17 October 2012

On the day that unemployment figures are released, hear why one Staffordshire man is urging the jobless to try something a little different...okay very different.

There's been an unpleasant smell in the air near Newcastle-under-Lyme in Staffordshire. It's apparently so bad work could be halted at the local landfill site, in protest at the smell it emits.

The company behind Stoke-on-Trent's new shopping centre proposal has said if the City Council had agreed to sell land to the existing Potteries Shopping Centre on the opposite side of town, then it would have reconsidered the City Sentral development. Tim speaks to the man in charge of the developers, Realis Estates.

We'll hear from the England supporter from Burslem who's had to shell out on a hotel and a late flight home because someone in Poland chose not to shut the rain out at last night's World Cup qualifier.

Speaking of rain, if you ever catch the train from Stafford Station you'll be pleased to hear Network Rail is going to fix the canopies and stop you getting wet before you catch a train.

You can also hear about the plans for tonights live episode of long running soap Emmerdale.
