Living with floods in the Amazon

The Negro river is a tributary of the Amazon. A family living on the banks of the Negro know they need to prepare early to feed their families during the greatest seasonal flood on earth. Villagers source a sustainable supply of food that's unique to their environment – turtles. To sustain and to further boost the turtle numbers, the villagers have established their own turtle conservation project. The big question is: will enough turtles survive to feed the villagers during the floods?
