Nomadic life: Mongolian horse herders
The lives of the Mongolian horse herders revolve around their animals. An excellent source of protein for the herders is horses’ milk, which they extract from wild mares. Catching these wild horses is a difficult task! The nomads are self-sufficient and depend on their livestock for food and other necessities. With no permanent home, these nomads migrate twice a year – between summer and winter camps, living in traditional tents called yurts.
